Don’t feel intimidated about the terms, wireless routers or DSL modems. After you understand what they are and how they work, they’ll actually make sense to you. A DSL modem is what enables you to connect your computer with the world via the Internet. The phone company will come out to your site and set up the Internet connection for you. The wireless router enables to share the Internet connection with other computers in your home or office, send and receive documents to them, and print documents. You can do all of these without using any wires.
Connecting a wireless router to a DSL modem is not difficult. Just follow these quick steps:
Learn how to set up your wireless router to the DSL modem
Step 1
Turn off the network devices.
Make sure the wireless router, DSL modem, and computer are turned off. Disconnect the power cords from the DSL modem and wireless router.

Remove the Ethernet cable that connects the DSL modem to your desktop computer. Plug one end of the Ethernet cable into the DSL modem. Plug the other end into the wireless router.
